Public Safety and General Services

Staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Center for Public Safety is the office to contact to request a parking permit, get assistance with your car, ask for a late-night escort, or report an accident or emergency.

The Office of Public Safety, housed in the Center for Public Safety and General Services, oversees campus safety and crime prevention and education for the IC community. In addition to serving as the headquarters for public safety officers and investigators, the Center for Public Safety is home to the staff of parking services, environmental health and safety, and the Student Auxiliary Safety Patrol (SASP).

Ithaca College takes campus safety seriously. Uniformed campus police officers and state-certified security officers patrol the campus by car and on foot 365 days a year. Public safety officers take the lead on all emergency responses to both criminal and non-criminal events, fire safety, crime prevention programming, and special event staffing. You'll also find them providing late-night escort services, directing traffic, helping with broken down or accidentally locked vehicles, and more.

If you're bringing a car to campus, be sure to visit Parking Services in the Center for Public Safety to secure a student permit. Temporary permits are also available for friends and family who are visiting IC.
