Smiddy Hall

Featuring four floors of modern teaching, computing, meeting, and office space, Smiddy Hall houses several departments in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, as well as the writing department, and the college's writing center.

Upstairs you'll find the Sir Alexander Ewing-Ithaca College Speech and Hearing Clinic, where speech-language pathology and audiology faculty and students serve clients from the college and surrounding community.

The office of the dean of HSHP is in Smiddy, along with the offices for the Departments of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Recreation and Leisure Studies. The office of the dean runs the PALS program (Physical Activity, Leisure, and Safety), which offers a variety of activities in the areas of aquatics, individual and dual sports, team sports, dance, and physical fitness.

Peer tutors in the writing center help students of every major hone their writing skills, whether they're polishing research papers or pages of their first novels.
